The fuel tank in my '78 Transporter seems to be gelled up with old fuel.  Any thoughts on what to do?  Anyone know of after market tanks?

 Welcome

You can usually put a gallon of new fuel in and slosh it around..... to breakup the old gas jel...... maybe let it sit over night to soak it loose......drain it...... then get some acetone or laquer thinner and slosh that around for a bit.... it will cut the hard to get petro gunk out........ If the tank is rust you'll want to get one of the gas tank restoration kits from www.Eastwood.com ......... it will clean and coat the tank to new condition......... Thumbs Up! 1

If your bus is not a show vehicle, a homemade access hatch can be cut in thru the bend of the floor panel. This hole came in VERY handy when I was checking out my sender/gas tank status. The whole interior of the tank can be viewed by lowering a pocket mirror thru the sender hole.
