I fiinally started working on the Bus, It's a 64 so the dash is pretty simple. Nothing is hoked up or working so I was wondering which switch does what? There's 3 knobs ( only one of mine move at all) a red light and the gas gauge. Can any one describe the switches and how they should operate? Does the emergency switch pull out or twist?

Thanks

With my 67 dash, the farthest left knob is the windshield wiper, it twists- Then the light switch, which pulls out and twists- then the hazard switch, which pulls out-

red light above the light switch? no clue... I looked at your owners manual on www.thesamba.com and didn't see any mention of a red light on the dash, maybe someone added it on for something? don't kill yourself over the wipers, mine work but are more of a distraction than the little bit of help they offer, go rain-x!!

Wow that's weird they actually show the light in the picture for 1964 but don't reference it, The books for 1693 and 1965 don't show this light.

Doh!  you beat me to it!
so, it lets you know your flashers are on- mine has an indicator light in the switch knob itself- it worked until my flasher relay box blew up-  10
