Hello all.. I have a 73' transporter and when I come to a stop I literally have to keep one foot on the gas or he'll die on me.. only happens when I apply the brakes... I can kill it just by pressing really hard on the brakes... any ideas.. thanks.

Sounds like something to do with the Vacuum booster. Check that all of the lines running from the manifold to the booster are connected and in good working order. If ok, then check around for other vacuum leaks, if all checks out then start looking for a replacement brake booster. (hint: go to junkyards and pray, cause they ain't cheap)
