Hiya guys, been trying to keep track of all happening here and failing miserably
Up north here the weather is rapidly turning to fall/ winter.
Things have been happening in McT land;
I went off up north with John Doe (64 pickup) to deliver him to his new owner as I was working up that way. Got stopped by the police twice in the same day infact twice within an hour! The first time they checked my drivers licence oggled the bus and asked me lots of questions about it and one of the cops started reminiscing about his old 66 double door that he used to have! They were friendly and didn't do an breathtest as they didn't have new clean tubes
They followed me about 12 miles before disappearing - it went like half an hour and an unmarked car rolled up and flashed me to the side, he checked my licence very quickly and started telling me about his 1303 s super that he'd laid out 5K on renovating
I started getting bizarre thoughts in my head and wondered when the film team would jump out and save me. They didn't and he didn't let me go before he'd gone through the whole engine build and picked my brains about the pickup on my trailer! I did get a bit cheeky and asked him if I could do a breathtest as the last one didn't happen. He said; "Do you feel that you need to?" Puzzled and a bit gob smacked i replied "err...no..i haven't drunk anything" He the said "well then you don't need to do you?!"
Like what is happening man?
freak stuff.
Then during the week I managed to write my work bus off , parked it in the back of another van on a freeway. The driver had decided to stop- i still don't know why
I had about a hundred or so meters to stop but heavy rain made it impossible to avoid sliding. I managed to keep a straight line and not veer into the other lanes which were full with cars as it was rushhour. Great stuff
Luckily no one was hurt at all not even whiplash just 2 wrecked vehicles. The fun part was being 500ks north from home working on a project on a tight time schedule, no vehicle dealing with hire cars and solving the issue of towing a trailer back home all of which were kinda hard to sort out straightaway so after id finished the job i jumped on a greyhound the 500 ks home slept and drove back the next day to pick up the trailer a roundtrip of 1000ks. If i don't see a strip of tarmac for a week ill be happy. I'm off tommorrow to look at a Chevrolet biofuel- will be my first American truck- luckily i was fully insured.
Buses, i bought an engine on a longshot which i haven't picked up/ had time to which is almost where the project was, just a 100ks further. or so...
SO- back on the coming sunday for phase 2 of the project and an engine pick up an FI 2 litre the same sort as found in the Porsche/vw collaboration with 80 bhp Type 4 ?? which i haven't decided what I'm doing with yet. The engine overhaul went well on the new bus "Ferdinand" but i haven't had time to stuff it back in the bus- will be getting round to it this week and will put up some pics
