Long Live the Vw's...

« on: May 29, 2008, 11:46:03 PM »

I've been kind of quiet here for the last few days as I've been moving. I got to say though what a workhorse the bus is. I've moved around 90% of all my stuff with Winnie. I have a Ford Diesel 4x4 F250 that I used for the big stuff but the ease of loading and unloading with Winnie (even though it took a few more trips) was more than a great help. The only things I've used the truck for is stuff that would not fit into the bus. Couch,  boxsprings, that kind of stuff. And by using Winnie I could do most of the moving by myself with only a little help. Just cool!
The only drawback has been I've pushed her master cylinder to the point of failing. That's ok though as I've already bought one and have not yet installed it, yet now I have to Grin. I guess it does prove an idea that I was thinking about a little while ago. I replaced all her wheel cylinders, shoes and such. And this move put on enough pressure on the old master cylinder to make it fail (well half of it) and I have to replace it now. And I now have a covered cement slab to work on.  Grin

good point, although my dirt, soil, bark dust, would be nice in the back of a single cab :-)

I'm currently in the process of moving using Geri and Navin as the trucks.  Got a futon and misc crap up to Newport in GL today.  The fun part will be the 80 mile trip with a queen mattress on top.

Roll the mattress up and push it through the rear hatch............ It'll look like a giant tampon applicator............ Eek! LOL

Sheesh Fast, don't you know an applicator-less brand like OB is more earth friendly?
