News:

In December 1962, Heat "exchangers" were introduced. Air was heated for use in the cabin by passing air over heated compartments instead of directly passing air that has cooled the engine into the passenger compartment.

I am trying to get all my ducks in a row for assembly on my Type IV 2.0.  I can not believe how much has to be done for this to work.  If all goes well, I may try a dry run camping trip around Thanksgiving by myself.  That is "if everything goes right", which is 50/50 right now.  I'm working on the correct assembly procedures now and the correct "break in" procedures as well.  Any suggestions are Welcome.

I can follow that- Splits are highly over rated. I dont think ill buy another one unless it falls into my lap. Bays are the dogs barnacles!  35

Hey, all!  I've been working on my bus like crazy so I can maybe drive her before it starts to snow again.  I'm having the same problem as Riley up in WI.  I switched from a dual carb set up to a single carb.  New manifold and seals and a rebuilt proven solex from a guy in GA that is supposed to be the bee's knee's when it comes to rebuilt German carbs.  She fires up and will idle for 20 sec. and die.  So, I backed out the idle jet screw and she will idle at about 2000rpm.  I'm at my wits end.  I'm shipping it back to him and borrowing a carb from a buddy wish me luck!  Hope everyone's having a great summer camping in their busses!  Peace,  Andy

Look for a vacuum leak. Manifolds to heads, intake boots that join the center to the runners, and carb to center section.
