just do it! it all is pretty simple stuff! have fun with your bus. you name it yet? mine is "turtle too". "turtle" was my first car about 18 years ago. so "turtle too" just seemed to work!
I haven't named it yet, but the night I bought it I was walking through the yard after unloading the bus, towards my other car to put it back in the driveway. I was moving kind of fast, as I was tired and ready to get in for the night. I didn't see the metal guywire holding my staked tree up, and I tripped over it and did a complete somersault onto the ground! So I thought the name "Trip" might fit....plus it smells like hippies inside! 33
And there's tons of Dead stickers on it, and a lot of Jimi Hendrix pics taped to the '71 camper interior that was included. Also some stickers there too - I might find a humorous name out of that!

From the pic of the floor, it looks as if it has rusted through. If it has been coated with something to slow down or stop the rust, I would seal it with a seam sealer so no water or dirt can ruin your floor.
If it needs a rust - stop kind of product, I recommend Master Series Silver.

no it was not rust even close to through anywhere on the bus. it is a very dry machine. was a southern cali bus.  i checked from underneath and i did all of the body work myself which meant i filled a few dings. i didn't make him perfect but i checked close for rust and there was only minor surface rusting.

The swamps of Louisiana!
Well actually, I live in North LA - The REAL (read that New Orleans &  Baton Rouge) southerners call us Yankees 81
We still get a lot of humidity here and rust is a real problem.

here in south dakota they salt the hell out of the roads in winter so rust is bad here too.

this bus was actually abandonded in my parking lot with a seated valve. so i did a title calim process and it became mine for the tax fees. 3% of estimated fair value. i think i paid 200 bucks?

now i have about 2k into it with new motor, paint, interior and guages.

That's a good deal. I got my Westy for $450 but had to make an 1800 mile round trip to get it. The interior is complete and working. I'll probably have about 2K in it when I'm done.
