22 -24 August 2008..a full weekend In historic Eureka Springs Arkansas.................. Beautiful old german town in the Ozark Mountains...... Huge Vw event and growing each year...... Last year over 200 + Vw's in the show......

I may try and camp in Clyde this year at one of the many campgrounds at the area lakes....

The Show theme this year is for the Type 2  called " Just Truckin Thru".....  I think Clyde will fit in....

3 more weeks............... Clyde gets the workover next week......repacking front wheel bearings, turning front rotors, installing new rear bearings,clean and repack CV's......... Also working on the upper cabinets...... and lubing anything that moves....    

My wife's finishing the rear mattress...... 

I also have to look over the bug and replace the door window regulators........

I had a great time this past weekend....  ItLives and i cruised up Friday morning and camped at a local campground.... nice and quiet place...

  The trip was uneventful as Mikes "Party Pumpkin" mastered the Ozark Mountains..... Not even a puff of smoke from the 1700 and he still held good speed on the long uphills....

 I was pulling my trailer with all the camping supplies and still got 19.5 mpg.  couldn't believe it...    I was tempted to give Mike a push on the hills a couple of times just for the fun of it..... 

There was a good turn out for the show..... lots of busses 

Didn't win anything but really wasn't thinking i would as they're pretty puristic bunch up there ......  I watched the judges working over Clyde and just shaking their heads and frowning... so it seemed..

 Lots of other folks loved him...

I'm sold!  I'm only 5 hours from Eureka.  Too bad I gotta wait till next August.  Is the show up on the main drag or down in old town?
