obviously bob's music transcends borders, cultures and language. I grew up listening to him as well as burning spear, culture, alpha blondy, lucky dube (rip), peter tosh, and many others.
i also enjoy african music whether traditional or afropop. some great artists are ali farka toure and salif kieta (mali), secouba bambino (guinea), youssou n'dour, baaba maal, toure kunda, africando (senegal - my childhood home), tiken jah fakoly (cote d'ivoire), and my personal favorite (met him twice)Johnny Clegg (S. Africa).
the police and sting, peter gabriel, albert collins, genesis and lately lily allen and feist are some others i listen to.
getting back to bob, a few of his sons arent that bad either.........
