A/C kit in Bus
« on: May 20, 2012, 03:29:59 PM »
Hello everyone :imnew:
Very happy to be here, I finally own my first VB bus.  Its a beautiful 1969 bay window bus (makes me smile just thinking of her).   Anyway I recently bought an A/C kit but have no idea on how to install it.  Can anyone help me. begin to make sense of how to install this kit (keep in mind I'm completely new to VWs)  I know that I might have to get some professional help at some point but I'd like to at least discuss and try this out.
thanks for all your help and again I'm very happy to be here, I always wanted a bus and to work on VWs but responsibilities kept me busy with other things, now I have time and a bit of many for fun

I too am brand new to the VW bus world, my son just purchased a 1978 bus and I'm pretty sure I'll be the one restoring it. Anyway mine came with a AC unit minus the compressor. It is my understanding that there are many different units out there. Is yours anything like ours or is yours under the dash?

You can learn quite a lot about VW Bus air conditioning from this link.
