Whadda ya got?

Is it a Westy? a Deluxe? a Transporter?

Check behind the seats or under the dash (later model buses) and look here:

Except for the engine & tranny, mines an all original, orange , with the hideous orange plaid that I love,'74 westy.
I think what I like the best the stripe, It was an addition "back in the day" to try and boost flagging sales.

Janis started out life as a pastel white kombi, comissioned the year, month, week, and possibly day I was getting my little ass slapped when I was born! That site didn't have my particulars (the last 3 digits on the whole thing) but it was a hoot finding out the info. Thanks Mr. Eep, sir.

Where is it, exactly? My M plate must be somewhere under the PO installed, glued on carpet. (If it's still there at all.) Where would I peel the carpet back? I'd like to see that M-code.

It's behind the driver seat mounted to the support wall.

I have a question, what is the difference between a kombi and a station wagon? They are different weights in my owners manual, so what's the diff? :102:

A Kombi has a stripped down spartan interior, it should have some rear seats but not much in the way of trim. Kombi equals Kombination passenger/commercial use. IIRC.

I thought the Kombi is basically a panel van with windows, so no interior, other than dash and front seats.

That would be in commercial configuration. The Kombi meant you could use it either way, I believe they came with seats when you bought them.
