My bus doesn't look like LMS, but sure acted like one this past week. Shifter not going into 2nd gear most of the time on my way to work - long lines of pissed off commuters behind me as I had to start off in 3rd sometimes from a light! Finally got a minute to loosen the 2 bolts at where the shifter meets the floor, adjust -tighten-readjust - tighten etc etc till I got my  1st and 2nd gears back.
Janis shifts are as smooth as a bay-bees behind now. Now to get to that pesky $5 plastic guide in the sliding door that catches up short ever 4th time I go to slide the slider door shut.......
