I have to replace the generator on my Bay, my question is do I need to take off the intake to be able to get the fan out or will loosening the shroud and lifting it be enough to get the fan out ? if this make any sence ?

I usually  remove the 36mm nut from the fan... wiggle the fan loose from the hub........ take the 4 screws out of the shroud holding the gen in place.... remove the belt and clamp band from the gen stand..... and carefully slide the gen out.............. using care not to loose the shims .....

replacement is reverse order.............. just be sure to torque the nut on the fan to 35 - 40ft. lbs. Thumbs Up! 1

Need to get a Bentley Manual........ it'll really help answer many of your questions.... Thumbs Up! 1
