I'm going to put this out here, and hopefully not curse the potential in the process.  Through a customer of mine I've located a 69 camper bus, non-pop-top style, that is supposedly 100% original.  (I've not seen it in person.)  It's the beige color that was stock for that year, has zero rust, and has been kept either in a garage or under cover it's entire life.  The guy that has it is the second owner, having inherited it from the original.  It hasn't been driven for at least a decade, and hadn't been started in 4-5 years until this past weekend, when the new owner started it for shits and giggles.  It ran fine after sitting that long.  The brakes would of course have to be gone through, and I'd imagine all the fluids changed, battery, carb rebuild, the standard stuff.

Anyway, I'm just seeing if there's any interest out there.  I've no idea what he's going to be asking for it.  I probably could have scored it for <$500 today, but I don't take advantage of people's lack of knowledge.  I referred him to thesamba.com for some comparative analysis.  I know, I know.  I've been cursed with a conscience.  Doh!

Anyway, if anyone may be interested, lemme' know.

My darling spousette use to trip cause I can walk into Sears , find what I want , find a small defect on it , get the dept. mgr. barter on the spot , and walk out with it for an extreme mark down . At the very least , what I am willing to pay for it .
That's my nature and I sleep better for it . Thank you very much  eusa_whistle

My wife shook her head at me the other day when I walked into Home Depot and they didn't have the Makita drill I wanted, but they had the next model up. I told the guy since he didn't have the one I wanted, I wanted the better one for the other's price. She looked at me like I was a little crazy, and he himself kind of scoffed at first, but he went to talk to his manager, came back and said 'Okay, yeah, we'll do it.'

It's only the second time I've bartered with people at stores since we've been together (haven't had a need before), the first was when I talked a salesman at Best Buy down $60 on a new subwoofer.

A lot of people just assume the price on the item is the lowest price a place is willing to sell it for. Truth is, a sale is a sale is a sale and they're often willing to part for it a lot less.
