In December 1962, Heat "exchangers" were introduced. Air was heated for use in the cabin by passing air over heated compartments instead of directly passing air that has cooled the engine into the passenger compartment.

Has any one here converted a Bus into a Pop-top? I have all the items. I'm more asking what potential pit-falls.

Take some opening measurements from a Westy poptop and cut the roof opening....... Install edge trim on the cutout section..... Bolt on the poptop....... Should be really easy....... Thumbs up! 2

Do more research before you start cutting. Me, I wouldn't try unless you are cutting into a sunroof model. They have the extra reinforcement.

It was hard finding the right keywords to look up. I found a samba link...

It does seem do able,  cutting the roof off the 77 and putting it on the 74. I will definitely hold off till next year. the one thing that would give me pause is the lowered gas mileage.
